General Resume

Gerald Williams has 26 years experience and has performed as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Principal Engineer on many projects. Gerald has worked for a wide variety of firms from small do-everything engineering companies to large ENR Top-100 firms, was employed by the City of Grand Junction (population approximately 42,000 and hub of 120,000 metropolitan area) as a design and development review engineer, and has owned his own business since 1992 that principally has served the public sector of cities, towns, counties, and state agencies.

Drainage, Hydrology, and Hydraulics Gerald's projects include stormwater management studies, stormwater runoff analyses for major urban and rural watersheds, hydraulic analyses of flow through natural and manmade channels and pipelines including rivers, streams, under interstate and local bridges, and Bureau of Reclamation pipelines and open channel drains. Mr. Williams has been published in conference proceedings and has given presentations at various conferences and workshop symposiums relating to stormwater management, surface hydrology, and flood control. City and County drainage manuals have been prepared by Mr. Williams, who has also assisted by invitation from the Colorado Water Conservation Board to serve on a committee to prepare state hydrology manuals. Designs have included large diameter storm drain, flood control, detention basins, and water quality facilities.

Water and Sewer Mr. Williams' project experience has also included water and wastewater system studies and development of master plans. Water design experience includes water system computer modeling and system calibration, water distribution and booster station design, and wells and tanks. Sewer design includes conventional and alternative wastewater collection systems and lift station design. Pipelines include aerial, bored, and open cut river crossings, and trenchless pipe construction. Gerald has also performed irrigation system analyses and system and pump design.

Transportation Engineering Experience also includes new and reconstructed local and arterial road design, pathway and trail design, and precast and pedestrian bridge design.

Other Municipal Engineering, As city employee and consultant, Gerald has experience reviewing proposed development, has worked with special and local improvement districts, and has contract administration and construction-related service experience.

Public Participation Non-technical conferences attended include topics such as building informed public consent and having objective-driven citizen participation programs.
